The next step in our backyard Outdoor room project was fixing the beams holding up the roof. Rotted at the base and large cracks made sitting under the structure something of an adventure. Now I love Bruce and well let’s just say he can be stubborn. He had that look in his eye that he was going to dig the four holes by hand. He would normally not ask for help and he would spend all weekend digging the holes by hand. Yes, that’s how he rolls! Luckily, for us at July 4th our neighbor said he would help out with his hole digger. Keith Saved the day with his machine.
I was a big scaredy cat. Imagining the rotten poles falling over or the last carpenter bee hole to be the one that takes the structure down. So I hid in the studio as the holes were drilled. Remember the wind here, it takes greenhouses and implodes them.
Behind each poles 36″ holes were drilled into the ground.
I held my breath until the next day when Bruce’s Dad Roger and our Nephew Kyle came down and put up some reinforcements until the next phase could be completed.
Nice and straight aren’t they??? Ahhh no not at all.
