I love coffee grinders… to look at. I don’t think I’ld trade in my Cuisanart Grind and Brew though for the old days. I use the drawer for all sorts of goodies. Some of these grinders are my moms and when I took pictures I found all sorts of things I stored in there as a kid. Today, mine sits next to our Grind and Brew and it’s not much fun. I put my vitamins and pills in there. Good hiding place and I remember to take them when I grab my first cup of coffee.
When hunting for these grinders look for Makers like Arcade, Daisy, Elgin National, Landers. Like most antiques if you find a grinder with a label in good condition the cost of the grinder goes up.
The one above is from my collection of antiques. I looked up the maker and if it had a pewter hopper it would be worth 245.00…
These are all from my mom’s collection. She’s a lover of coffee grinders…
I found an old wedding favor in here from a neighbor’s wedding.
This is the one I grew up with. I used to play bank with it as well. It worked great for a cash registrar. We found and old Christmas Ornament I had painted when I was little, old quarters, notes on paint colors used in the house, old business cards. A treasure trove indeed!
This tiny one is more likely a spice grinder.
